Being an artist, being any form of artist, means being aware of the thread that weaves every single one of us together, thus connecting us to you and inviting you into the web that entangles every human reached by our works. That thread is the need to share; the need to share thoughts and feelings, hopes and dreams, fears and desires, failures and triumphs. We pour our hearts into creations, riding on the chance that someone out there might hear it, see it, taste it, touch it... and feel something.
We are The Gilberts, also known as Sing for America, and we choose to share from the stage. We share through performance, through song, dance, and theatre. We started this blog because through our performances you can get to know us as a group of entertainers. But we are excited to give anyone who's interested a closer look, a different perspective, because no matter what there is always something that you just can't see from the stage. So now we invite you to take a look into our lives and get a glimpse of our own "behind the scenes," as performers and as a family, but also as individuals. With this blog we all hope to interest you just a little bit as we share just a little bit more of "us."
